PRÉGARDIEN, DRAXINGER, WIEGERS UND DAS MKO

This evening´s program explores nocturnal soundscapes and contemporary voices. At its heart is Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, a poetic night journey through nature, dreams, and inner worlds. Tenor Julian Prégardien brings this hauntingly beautiful work to life, joined by Franz Draxinger (horn), the MKO, and conductor Bas Wiegers.
Also featured is Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, a deeply expressive piece inspired by Richard Dehmel’s poem about a moonlit confession of love and forgiveness.
Two world premieres offer striking contemporary counterpoints: Johannes Maria Staud’s Stachel, a rhapsody for strings, and Mirela Ivičević’s She Dreams in Colors, composed for the MKO in collaboration with musica femina münchen e.V.
