Violinist Clara Mesplé was born in Montpellier in 1997 and received her first violin lessons at the age of six. At twelve, she won first prize in her category at the Vatelot Rampal competition.

In 2014, Clara began her studies at the CNSMD Lyon in Marianne Piketty’s class, where she completed her master’s degree. She then studied with Peter Rainer at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2024, after two years of study in Nora Chastain’s class, she received a solo master’s degree. She also received inspiration from Noah Bendix-Balgley, Lorenza Borrani, Günter Pichler, Renaud Capuçon, the Quatuor Ebène and the Artemis Quartet during masterclasses.

In 2013 and 2014, she was a member of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra and had the opportunity to play under internationally renowned conductors.

In 2018, she became a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the prestigious Seiji Ozawa International Academy Switzerland. A year later, Clara participated in the Gustav Mahler Academy, the Zermatt Festival Academy and the Musethica International organisation. Since 2018, she has also gained orchestral experience as a substitute with the Eroica Berlin Chamber Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and the Kammerakademie Potsdam, where she has been an academician since 2022. Clara has also served as concertmaster with various French ensembles (Le Concert Idéal, Le Concert de la Loge, Orchestre de Chambre de l’île de Groix, etc.). Her passion is chamber music. She is co-founder of the Quatuor Confluence, with which she won first prize at the Tremplin Jeunes Quatuors Paris competition in 2016 and two prizes at the FNAPEC European Chamber Music Competition.

In 2019, she founded the Quatuor Arlequin, with which she won third prize as best string quartet at the Anton Rubinstein Chamber Music Competition. With her duo Vedanā (violin and piano), she won first prize at the Concours International Léopold Bellan in Paris and two prizes at the FNAPEC 2021 competition, which enabled them to perform at several festivals in the following season.

As a soloist, she received the ‘Prize of the Jury’ at the ‘Talents Classiques’ competition in 2019 and the sponsorship award from the Ibolyka Gyarfas Foundation in Berlin. In 2021, she performed with several university orchestras in France as a soloist, playing Beethoven’s, Mendelssohn’s and Tchaikovsky’s violin concertos. Clara plays a violin made by François Caussin in 1885.

Clara Mesplé joined the Munich Chamber Orchestra as a violinist in 2024.
